Watching football on a Saturday afternoon, thought we should honor some of the “better” mascots in the country.

Artie the Fighting Artichoke mascot of Scottsdale Community College

The Blue Blob  the blue fuzzy costumed mascot, one of two official mascots for Xavier University (Cincinnati)

Cayenne  costumed chili pepper for the Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette

{} (empty set)  mascot of New College of Florida

Eutectic — the mascot of St. Louis College of Pharmacy

The Fighting Okra the unofficial mascot of Delta State University

Fighting Pickle mascot of University of North Carolina School of Arts

Peter the Anteater  the mascot at the University of California Irvine

Purple Cow  the gold-spotted mascot of Williams College

Sammy the Slug  a banana slug is the mascot of UC Santa Cruz.

Scrotie (yep, that’s what he is) mascot of the Rhode Island School of Design

Know some great mascots?  Feel free to join in.
